Accountability at Work
Political Assassinations in Lebanon

On October 21, 2026, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., on the occasion of the publication of the report Lost in Justice, the Lokman Slim Foundation is organizing a public discussion entitled Accountability at Work: Political Assassinations in Lebanon.

The discussion will take place in the hall of the Ministry of Justice, under the patronage of the Minister of Justice, Mr. Adel Nassar. The event is organized in partnership with the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung.

The discussion will focus on four main themes: the experiences of victims’ families; the mechanisms of impunity; the policies needed to advance judicial accountability; and the role of the media in raising awareness and advocating on issues related to political crimes.

The Lokman Slim Foundation has invited the following participants to contribute to the discussion: Mr. Adel Nassar, Minister of Justice; Mr. Marwan Hamadeh, MP and survivor of an assassination attempt in October 2004; Mr. Choukri Haddad, lawyer representing victims of the Beirut Port explosion; Mr. Farouk El-Moghraby, lawyer and author of the report; Elsi Mfarraj, representing the Alternative Press Syndicate; and Walid Eido, son of MP Walid Eido, who was assassinated in June 2007.

The discussion will be moderated by Hana Jaber, Executive Director of the Lokman Slim Foundation.
